Asylum Strength is a specialist strength and performance facility in Newtownards,
supporting weightlifters, powerlifters, individual athletes and sports teams.

Our coaching combines extensive practical experience with degree qualified
strength and conditioning expertise, structured programming and a facility
built for performance.

Olympic Weightlifting

Technical coaching, structured programming and competition preparation
for lifters at every stage, from learning the lifts through to competitive
weightlifting.

Powerlifting

A dedicated environment for developing the squat, bench press and
deadlift, with coaching, programming and competition support for
recreational and competitive lifters.

Strength & Conditioning

Professional S&C support for individual athletes, teams and clubs.
Programmes are planned around the demands of the sport and developed
to improve strength, speed, power, movement and physical robustness.

Everyone Has a First Day

Asylum is built around a community of members with different ages,
abilities and sporting backgrounds. Beginners train alongside experienced
lifters and competitive athletes in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Each week we run dedicated coached sessions for people learning
weightlifting and powerlifting, alongside opportunities for experienced
athletes to develop their training.

Whether you are starting strength training, developing your skills,
preparing for competition or using S&C to support your sport,
our coaches and members will help you get started.

Our Facility

Built for Strength and Performance

Asylum is equipped specifically for strength sport and athletic performance.
Our facility includes dedicated weightlifting platforms, racks, specialist
bars and plates, free weights and a fully equipped performance suite for
strength and conditioning.

The space supports technical weightlifting, powerlifting, maximal strength
development, speed, power and athletic preparation.
